Corrugated Board

Corrugated boards are produced for cardboard box manufacturers that produce small amounts of cardboard boxes , mostly of unstandard shape, whose production requires more manual work invested. Adequate machines turn the corrugated fiberboards into cardboard boxes of various shapes:

Corrugated cardboard is a packaging material, made of more layers of paper among which there is corrugated shaped paper.

Due to its layers, corrugated cardboard is divided into two-layer, three-layer and five-layer cardboard. For special purposes corrugated cardboards are produced with more than five layers.

Two-layer cardboard is made of one flat plate and a corrugated layer. Three-layer cardboard is made of two flat plates with a corrugated layer between them. Five-layer cardboard is made of three flat plates connected with a corrugated layer.

Flat layer of the corrugated cardboard plate mostly manufactured of 125g Testliner, or Craftliner, while corrugated layer is made of 105g Wellenstoff. Flat and corrugated layers are also made of paper of higher weight.

Modern packaging material is supposed to be disassembled, as empty it should take as little storage and transport space as possible. It should be adjustable for assemble by a machine so that it could directly enter the production line. For ecological reasons it is crucial that non-returnable packaging material contains as less plastic material as possible. The advantages have those products made of cellulose (cartons, corrugated cardboards and wood). The weight of the packaging material has to be of 4-5% of the packed products’ total weight.
